Old Business

·       Once again, the Roslindale parade was a great success. Thanks to all who participated. It was suggested that we march next to a pipe band at next year's parade, if it can be arranged.

·       We hosted the state meeting on Sunday, October 17 in the KoC 1308 at Roslindale Square. 22 people attended. All appreciated our efforts in making the meeting a success. The State Board website can be accessed at http://www.massaoh.com.

·       Bob Quinn, late of the Watertown Police and a Hibernian of Division 14 Watertown, passed on October 25.  Two of our brothers attended the funeral. In his memory, we have donated $50 to the ALS Association.

New Business

·       On Wednesday, November 3 at 6:30 PM, there will be a special presentation on Guy Fawkes Day in the Boston Public Library at Copley Square. It is entitled "Lost Holiday: How Bostonians Celebrated the Fifth of November" and will feature J. L. Bell, a local historian and blogger (http://boston1775.blogspot.com), who will discuss how Bostonians traditionally celebrated "Pope Night" from the Revolution into the modern American age. Future details can be found on the library's homepage at http://www.bpl.com. A few of our members will attend.

·       The annual memorial rosary for James Michael Curley will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Old Calvary Cemetery in Roslindale starting at 12:00 Noon. Some members will attend.

·       We are tentatively scheduled to "ring the bell" for charitable contributions for the Salvation Army on the first two Mondays in December. Further details to follow.

·       We are looking for fundraising suggestions. Currently, we are exploring the possibility of a pub-crawl and a film series. Members with ideas should share them at the next meeting.

·       With the holidays quickly approaching, division activities will be slowing down. However, we are still focusing on increasing membership. Members are encouraged to contribute ideas to accomplish this goal.

·       Brothers are reminded that the monthly division meeting will now be held on the first Monday of the month. Our next meeting is TBA.

·       The business portion of the meeting was closed at 7:45pm in memory of Kevin Barry, who died for the cause of Ireland exactly 90 years ago. Go bhfaighe a anam agus anamacha na bhfíréan suaimhneas síoraí. Amen.

Respectfully submitted,

Ryan Mulvey
