Old Business

- Dues collection is complete. Membership cards have been received from the national office. If you have not yet received your 2011 card, please contact Brother Kevin D.

- The pub crawl will take place this Saturday, May 14. There are 13 confirmed RSVPs, as well as 14 "maybes." Please continue to invite your family and friends; the pub schedule can be accessed on the Facebook event page. We begin at 12 Noon at McGann's and end at 5:00 PM at the Black Rose. Murphy's Law in South Boston will be the last stop for those who wish to continue festivities after the official crawl. A number of the establishments will be making special accommodations for the group. Sláinte mhaith!

- Pub crawl t-shirts will be available for pick-up on the day of the event. Please have cash or check available, if you have not yet paid. There are a few extra t-shirts, sized L, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Our next major event is the 3rd Annual Boston an Gorta Mór Commemoration on May 22. Everything has been set with City Hall. Monsignor Kelly of Sacred Heart will be present, as well. Payment for the wreath is being processed. There is a suggestion that we assist at the Holy Mass in the morning and share a communion breakfast before heading downtown. We are looking into this possibility; news will forthcoming. Brother Kevin D. is working to ensure we have all the appropriate legislative bodies providing proclamations in honor of the day's commemoration.

- The Boston Irish Tourism Association has published their spring guide. Our handsome add appears in the middle spread on page 13. Brother Kevin D. distributed a number of copies at the meeting, though free copies can also be found at locations across the region. http://www.irishmassachusetts.com/BITA_Guide_Locations.php. Our webmaster, Brother Michael D. will also post the link to our site.

- In the future, we make sure to update our website with general reminders of all of our events, as well as any other special news releases. We will also provide new links to the membership application PDF available on the national website. http://www.aoh.com.

New Business

- A question was raised as to the status of the division's P.O. Box. The necessary inquiries will be carried out and the results will be shared at the next meeting.

- The NORAID Dinner originally scheduled for May 7 in Dorchester has been postponed. Further details will be forthcoming from Brother Mike R.

- Work on the Tollgate Cemetery project is continuing. Further details will be forthcoming.

- National HQ has still not updated the list of division at http://www.aoh.com to include our own, along with a link to our website. The division will continue to address this situation.

- Brothers Kevin O. and Kevin D. provided a report of the recent state meeting hosted by Division 14 Watertown.

- The State Board has announced that the next AOH/LAOH convention, which had originally been cancelled, is back on. It will be held June 3-5 in Old Sturbridge, MA. Brother Mike R. will be attending on behalf of Division 1 Boston.

- Brother Mike F.'s father recently underwent surgery. Prayers are requested for him and his family, as well as his speedy recovery. Go mbíodh biseach ort gan mhoill!

- Brothers are reminded that next month's meeting will be on Monday, June 6. We will meet at Robyn's in Roslindale Square at 7:00 PM.

- The business portion of the meeting was closed at 8:00 PM in commemoration of the Venerable Matthew Talbot, who was born this day in 1856. A revered Irish ascetic, he was noted for his piety, charitable works, and private self-mortification. He was especially renowned for his efforts to fight the ill-effects of alcoholism, especially amongst the poor and destitute of the Irish nation. The depth of his holiness was known across Europe, even in Poland, where a young Blessed John Paul II authored a paper on his life and significance. He was declared venerable on October 3, 1975 by Pope Paul VI.

Respectfully submitted,
